Asia (Joanna) Czaj

Born in Poland, Asia started to play the violin at the age of 7. She made her successful solo debut with Czestochowa’s symphony orchestra at the age of 15. Since then she has been taking part in international masterclasses and festivals, mastering her musical personality with distinguished professors such as Herman Krebbers, Roman Totenberg, Eduard Grach, Yair Kless , Yuri Zhyslin, Marina Jaszwili, as well as many others.

In 2007, Ms. Czaj became a finalist of the Grachtenfestival conservatorium concours in Amsterdam. She also was awarded the Huygens Scholarship from 2008 until 2010In 2009, she was nominated for the Het Debuut Concours in Amsterdam. In 2010 graduated from the Conservatorium Maastricht where she studied with Prof. Robert Szreder .

Asia is a prize winner of several solo and chamber music International Music Competitions in Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, France and The Netherlands. Since 2000 Asia has given concerts in Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Poland ,The Netherlands, Brazil, China, Canada and the USA.

Her musical interests also extend outside of the classical arena. She took part in several cross-over music productions and tours such as Symphonic in Rosso and Night of The Proms. Asia has performed and recorded with well known artists such as: Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Andrea Bocelli , The Jacksons, Gloria Estefan, Seal, Zucchero, The Beach Boys, Candy Dulfer and many others.
